about

With the first two singles from the forthcoming album, getting airplay on the Danish National Radio P6 Beat, in Canada, UK and USA, one is allowed to have great expectations for the new single ‘Alien’. We guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The song has a hypnotic and meditative vibe to it and it sounds at the same time big and very earthbound. The different elements in the song serve as a perfect backdrop to Jesper Mogensen’s vocal and surrounds and embraces the theme of being alienated. Death Machine once again combine the grandiose with the intimate, which is expressed through various acoustic elements, samples and vintage synthesizers.

The band who has previously been quite succesfull with the songs ‘Bleak’ and ‘Cocoon’ from their previous album. This time they experiment a bit more with their sound which is inspired and influenced by hiphop beats and singer/songwriters of the 70s. It is still tied together by Jesper’s fragile vocal, his personal lyrics and the Spanish guitar which has been the starting point for his songs, ever since the first album was recorded in his kitchen.

lyrics

I am not quite here
Not there
Im the man who used

to care

I've been walking many miles
But now and then it seems
Like memories of places I've never seen
We've been talking many times
But now I can't recall
If everything is built upon illusive core

Don't know

where it goes

if blown to a hole
Don't know

I've been up all night
Just waiting
Need to dye your eyes
I'm fading

I will go for anything, I'm longing to connect
But something deep inside me will not eject
Going down this road I've been a thousand times
Well this ain't going anywhere,
I'll let you drive

Don't know

where it goes

if blown to a hole
Don't know

about

Death Machine Copenhagen, Denmark

The story of Death Machine begins with a real shitty week in the life of lead singer Jesper Mortensen. Within one week his girlfriend leaves, his old band dissolves and he gets fired from his job. Instead of breaking down Jesper transform the anger and despair into his first set of songs by the dogma that each songs must take up to 8 hours to complete. ... more
